Which data centres work with DP-R|EX?

As part of DP-R|EX, the research data centres GESIS, Qualiservice and DeZIM.fdz are cooperating to archive data relevant to the research field in the long-term and to provide it for subsequent scientific use through careful preparation and documentation.

The project partners have topic- and method-specific expertise in order to find the most suitable way to share the respective research data and to organise data access. In addition, the aim is to collaborate with other data-holding organisations and repositories as the project progresses. The aim is to exchange metadata inventories of relevant studies, to enrich these with topic-specific descriptions and to achieve a high coverage of topic-related data inventories within the DP-R|EX data explorer.

After submitting my data to DP-R|EX, in which research data centre will my data be archived?

The DP-R|EX quality assurance archiving concept determines which data centre is best suited to your data in terms of content and methodology and is responsible for archiving. Access to the recorded research data (off-site or on-site use) is finally realised by forwarding it to the data-holding centres.


DP-R|EX itself does not provide a repository for central data storage – this is done in close coordination with the data providers in one of the participating research data centres.

I would like to share my own R|EX research data. How do I proceed?

Researchers who wish to archive and publish their data via DP-R|EX can use our registration form, where key content and methodological information about the study must be specified.

We generally recommend that you consult our collection policy in advance to assess the suitability of your data. Based on the information in the registration form, a decision will be made as to whether the research data can be published in a quality-assured manner via DP-R|EX and, if so, which of the participating partners provides the best expertise in content and methodology for archiving and publishing the data. We also recommend that you prepare your own data accordingly before submitting a report. Here you can find out more about how your data can be made readable and interpretable for third parties and how it can be prepared for transmission to one of the data centres involved in DP-R|EX.

I am looking for R|EX research data. Where and how can I find it?

The subject-specific data search is not yet accessible. The technical systems and the exchange of metadata between DP-R|EX and the participating research data centres are currently being prepared and inventory data is being indexed on a topic-specific basis.


However, research data that has already been registered via DP-R|EX will be made visible in the data catalogues of the participating research data centres once the archiving process has been completed. Our own data explorer will be available in a second release wave together with additional functions and content in the first quarter of 2024!
